LEVEL I, II, III CANYONS

Canyoning is an activity or sport practiced crossing canyons and gorges, walking or/and swimming, using several techniques to solve the different sections. LEVEL I CANYONS

The greatest obstacles that have to be faced in this type of canyons are:

  • Rappels with easy access and execution, height less than 10 meters
  • Easy and not  exposed climbing/ downclimbing steps
  • Swimming in calm water (less than 10 meters)
  • Easy jumps, less than 3 meters high (always optional)
  • Short or softly sloped slides

Requirements:

  • Be at least 9 years old (the minors must be accompanied by one of their parents or a guardian)
  • Be able to swim
  • Do not suffer vertigo or be afraid of heights
  • For the security of the whole group, is required that anyone that suffers any disability or disease has to inform the guide before the beginning of the activity

LEVEL II CANYONS

The greatest obstacles that have to be faced in this type of canyons are:

  • Vertical walls with low water flow
  • Rappels with easy access and execution, height less than 30 meters. Separated with zones that permit regrouping
  • Technic walks that require paying attention, with precise steps, and searching the best route through slippery, unstable, uneven and/or abrupt zones.
  • Easy and slightly  exposed climbing/ downclimbing steps, that could require to use a rope
  • Swimming in calm water (less than 30 meters)
  • Advance in weak currents
  • Easy jumps, from 3 to 5 meters high
  • Long slides or with considerable slopes

Requirements:

  • Be at least 9 years old (the minors must be accompanied by one of their parents or a guardian)
  • Be able to swim
  • Have some experience rappelling
  • Do not suffer vertigo or be afraid of heights
  • Be in a good physical shape
  • For the security of the whole group, is required that anyone that suffers any disability or disease has to inform the guide before the beginning of the activity

LEVEL III CANYONS

The greatest obstacles that have to be faced in this type of canyons are:

  • Vertical walls with low or medium water flow, that could provoke imbalance or blocks
  • Rappels with difficult access and/or height more than 30 meters
  • Rappels concatenation with comfortable regrouping points on the wall
  • Delicate handrails
  • Rappels that end in points that are not visible from the beginning, that may also require to swim to get out
  • Considerably difficult and  exposed climbing/ downclimbing steps, that require to use a rope
  • Long stays in water with possible loss of body heat
  • Advance in medium strength currents
  • Easy jumps, from 5 to 8 meters high
  • Jumps with difficult starting point, trajectory or ending (less than 5 meter high)
  • Width siphons with less than 1 meter length and/or depth
  • Long slides or strong slopes

Requirements:

  • Be at least 12 years old (the minors must be accompanied by one of their parents or a guardian)
  • Be able to swim and dive
  • Have experience rappelling
  • Do not suffer vertigo or be afraid of heights
  • Be in a good physical shape
  • For the security of the whole group, is required that anyone that suffers any disability or disease has to inform the guide before the beginning of the activity
