Oxel Arrieta Balanzategi

Born in Arrasate (Gipuzkoa, in the border between Spain and France), nowadays lives between Pyrenees and Arrasate. His mountaineering passion comes from his family, as his first steps in the mountains were made together with his parents, discovering the mountains of Basque Country and Pyrenees, and embracing the values related to this lifestyle.

Qualified mountain guide, possess the titles of medium mountain and canyoning guide. Additionally he is a member of Asociación Española de Guías de Montaña (AEGM), of the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA) and of the Asociación de Escuelas, Profesores y Entrenadores de Deportes de Invierno de España (AEPEDI).

Connoisseur of the mountain chain from Basque Country and Pyrenees, he has also made several routes in the Alpes and Atlas, reaching some of the most interesting summits of this mountain chain.
